The Creative Unconscious: What's your name, age, and professional title? Where are you currently employed?
Andrew McIntosh "Mackie": Andrew McIntosh "Mackie", 37
TCU: What hobbies do you have outside of your professional field that keep you inspired and motivated to generate personal work? How do they inspire you?
AMM: Basketball, tennis, golf and basically playing as much as possible. Otherwise I enjoy exploring most new technologies trying to work out how they can assist in new projects.
TCU: Do you have a hard time balancing being a creative professional and generating personal work that you're proud of?
AMM: Nope, mostly, each work is an extension of the previous. Always trying to find new techniques and allow the idea to develop with the painting. At its own pace.
TCU: What time of day do you feel the most creative? What about the most productive?
AMM: Mostly mess about with ideas in the morning and work pretty solidly from lunch till evening.
TCU: What are your creative goals for the future?
AMM: To accept errors and roll with them a bit more than I do just now. I think I'm better at destroying brushwork than applying it. So I think the paintings will get better by freeing up a bit more.
TCU: Are you working on any personal projects right now? If so, can you share a little bit about your inspiration and your creative process?
AMM: I'd like to see if it works out before I discuss it. And some neon clothed anti-portraits.
TCU: What scares you?
AMM: Being out in the rain with the wrong clothes. But I like the rain when I'm kitted up.
TCU: What does success mean to you?
AMM: Offering the world a new perspective and surviving.
