The Creative Unconscious: What's your name, age, and professional title? Where are you currently employed?
Hugo Alonso: Hugo Alonso, 36, Fine arts graduate, Artist
TCU: What hobbies do you have outside of your professional field that keep you inspired and motivated to generate personal work? How do they inspire you?
HA: I think that my professional field embrace everything I live... Music is important for me. I also like going to lonely beaches. Also silence inspires a lot.
TCU: Do you have a hard time balancing being a creative professional and generating personal work that you're proud of?
HA: Sometimes the hardest thing in making art is the sense of quality, also being excited with the world around you.
TCU: What time of day do you feel the most creative? What about the most productive?
HA: Ideas seem to be more clear at night, but it can be just an illusion because mind is exhausted and it must give an answer after the whole day messing around. Best time for me is 6:30 pm, but not Sundays.
TCU: What are your creative goals for the future?
HA: Accept death and be happy.
TCU: Are you working on any personal projects right now? If so, can you share a little bit about your inspiration and your creative process?
HA: I'm working for a solo exhibition in December. Also making music after having lunch. I wish I can have a music and video live show prepared one day. I send you some pics.
TCU: What scares you?
HA: The future.
TCU: What does success mean to you?
HA: I don't know.
TCU: Anything else you want to add?
HA: Thank you very much for your interest.
